COSMETIC
Each member of your family, from the children to the grandparents, should be receiving routinely-scheduled dental cleanings throughout the year. These scheduled visits enable our team to work in partnership with our patients to prevent the damage that could be caused by gum disease and tooth decay. A routine cleaning will help to eliminate superficial buildup like plaque, tartar, and stains.Scientific research has shown that gum disease and tooth decay are the leading causes of tooth loss in our country; however, both of these diseases can progress to their most destructive stages without causing significant pain. These diseases also tend to occur in places that are difficult to see with the naked or untrained eye. Fortunately, you can reduce your risk of developing these harmful dental conditions by scheduling (and keeping!) your regular dental cleanings at least two times each year.

Maybe it starts with a dull, throbbing pain. Or perhaps your child complains that it hurts when she bites down on something hard or opens her mouth really wide. These are all indications that your child could have a cavity.Obviously, getting that first cavity filled might create anxiety in your little one; but you can help your child establish a healthy relationship with the dentist — even in these younger years — by taking care of this first cavity in the best way possible.Our own Dr. Casey provides a few tips for parents.
